Been a while since I've drawn Vodun (or anything for that matter 
) so I'm a kind of rusty but I think this came out ok.
I've been planning for a while to do a sort of "revamp" on Vodun and after much procrastination: here's the start of it.
To begin with, I've redesigned her appearance (she's kept the signiture scars and voodoo pins in her hair but I've changed her costume, added scars on her shoulders, given her a few accessories, and given her a necklace with a voodoo doll hanging from it). I was trying to give her a slightly more "tribal witch"-like appearnace but no guarentees I won't go back and change her outfit again.
For anybody who doesn't know, Maria LaVeau aka Vodun is another Arkham loon suffering from an avoidant personality disorder and acute schizophrenic hallucinations and delusions.
After an as-of-now-yet-to-be-revealed incident, Maria adopted the name Vodun and became a "puppet" of sorts to the "voices" she hears in her mind.
She believes herself to be an unwilling Messiah of sorts purging the world of the weak and unworthy.
She's not all too bright and can be manipulated rather easily but once she has her sights on you, you might as well be a rat in an open field with a tiger.
Most of Vodun's strength lies in her predator-like approach to confrontation and her imposining physical stature. But, as I said before, she's not the smartest girl around.
As characteristic of an avoidant personality disorder, Maria is very socially withdrawn and emotionally fragile. She believes herself to be a victim forced to carry out the orders of "spirits" of sorts.
With each kill, Vodun fashions a voodoo doll in the image of her prey and believes that the souls of those she kills are tranferred into the dolls. Hence she always has a voodoo doll tied to her necklace for easy access. Her believing that the souls of those she kills still exist in the dolls is Vodun's way of rationalizing the killing - believing that they aren't truly gone but merely trapped in a doll.
She has a pretty intense fear of Batman finding him to be the greatest predator of all. She'll do pretty much anything to avoid his sights.
Apologies for the long artist comment but I wanted to make sure all of my bases were covered.
